What is music? Everyone has a different answer to that question. Music may have an obvious definition but those who listen to classical music are not likely to give pop music the same definition.
It proves from the outset how music can cause debate and inspire many. It is a versatile artistic entertainment that takes on many different forms and has many different genres that appeal to different people. As a result it is no wonder it is so popular, with almost everyone having a favourite song, artist, band and in some cases venue.
And what effect does it have on the world? Music has a profound effect. It can be heard everywhere and fits in with so many other media that removing it from the world would have a large knock on effect. Films would no longer have soundtracks to aide in their emotional impact; mobile phones would no longer have musical ringtones to inform us of a call; radio stations would have no music to play and would have to find different ways of entertaining listeners.
It is also heard in many places we don’t realise including obscure places such as during start ups for computers. It shows us that without music, we would definitely notice a large difference.
